Liverpool complicates Madrid's life with an astronomical offer, goodbye to Bernabéu
The Anfield team wants to acquire Florian Wirtz and they are willing to pay 150 million euros for the German
Florian Wirtz's future takes a new turn. When it seemed that Real Madrid was taking the lead in the race for the German, an unexpected competitor has appeared: Liverpool.
The English team has made a move. They have done it with strength. According to German media, the Reds have made an irresistible proposal to the player's camp.
So much so that Wirtz, only 22 years old, would already be much closer to the Premier League than to LaLiga or the Bundesliga.
For weeks, Real Madrid had been closely following the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder. His numbers prove it: 45 matches, 16 goals, and 15 assists this season. He is one of the great gems of European soccer.

A project that entices Wirtz
Liverpool's contacts have been key. The meetings with the footballer and his family have made a great impact.
The English club would have promised him to be the centerpiece of a new project. Wirtz would not only be an undisputed starter. He would also be the face of Liverpool post-Klopp.
Bayern is also still in the fight, although they see it as more complicated every day. The Bavarian club trusted in enticing the player with their national project. But the English offensive has unsettled the German giant.
Leverkusen expects a record transfer
Leverkusen, meanwhile, is rubbing their hands. They have already set an asking price around 150 million euros.
Uli Hoeneß, Bayern's executive, called the figure "exaggerated." But Liverpool doesn't seem to share that opinion.

Michael Edwards, CEO of the British club, will travel to Boston to convince the owners of Fenway Sports Group. The idea is clear: close the signing as soon as possible.
At Santiago Bernabéu, they didn't expect this move. Florentino Pérez had Wirtz on his radar as the ideal replacement for Modric in the medium term. But Liverpool's emergence changes everything.
Real Madrid doesn't enter auctions, especially not with such high figures. If there is no unexpected turn, Wirtz will not wear white. Anfield is shaping up to be his next destination.
With that, Liverpool snatches from Madrid one of the great promises of world soccer.
