Paco González Explodes and Points at Ancelotti after the Supercopa: He Doesn't Know..
The journalist believes that the Italian leaves games against big teams like Barcelona or Manchester City to chance
Real Madrid suffered a tough defeat against Barcelona (2-5) in the final of the Spanish Supercopa. After the game, Paco González didn't hold back and launched a direct criticism at Carlo Ancelotti.
"He's a great coach who doesn't know how to face teams like Barça or City. I mean, he has no ideas, unless Mbappé or Vinícius get lucky with a run and solve the problem for him," the journalist stated on Tiempo de Juego.
A reflection that divides opinions
Paco González's words caused a stir. While some supported his analysis, others considered it an opportunistic comment.
Ancelotti, with 31 titles in his coaching career, is the most decorated coach in Real Madrid's history with 15. Additionally, he has won five Champions League titles, a record in the competition.
Despite his success, the Italian has been criticized for his lack of tactical replys in key matches against major teams.
A game to forget
The match started well for Madrid, with a goal from Mbappé in the 5th minute. However, Barça replied strongly.
Lamine Yamal equalized in the 22nd minute. Then, a penalty by Camavinga allowed Lewandowski to score the 1-2. Raphinha (39') and Álex Balde (45+10') extended the lead before halftime.
In the second half, Raphinha scored again (48'). Rodrygo narrowed the gap with a stunning free-kick goal in the 60th minute. Despite playing with an extra man after Szczęsny's expulsion, Madrid couldn't trouble Barça.
Lack of ideas?
Paco González's criticism questions Ancelotti's approach. According to the journalist, the coach relies too much on the individual talents of Mbappé and Vinícius. This was evident in the final, where Madrid was outplayed both tactically and physically.
The defeat reopens the debate on whether Ancelotti is the right person to lead Madrid in big matches. Meanwhile, Barcelona celebrates a title that boosts their confidence and leaves their eternal rival reeling.
Ancelotti, for his part, will have to react quickly, as Madrid can't afford more slip-ups in their pursuit of the season's objectives.
