Real Madrid - Benfica agreement for Carreras: the final transfer price

Everything is ready for Álvaro Carreras to become a new footballer for Real Madrid

"Real Madrid has already finalized the signing of Álvaro Carreras. The Spanish footballer, who currently plays for Portuguese side Benfica, will play in the Club World Cup with the white team". This is how the news by Iván Martín in "OK Diario" begins, in which he confirms the footballer's arrival to the Madrid squad.

The official announcement of the signing is imminent. Real Madrid will pay SL Benfica a total of 45 million euros for Álvaro Carreras, distributed in two payments of 22.5 million each. The remaining five million, which would complete the footballer's release clause, will be subject to future agreements between both entities.

Real Madrid already has Álvaro Carreras's signing finalized

Álvaro Carreras's signing by Real Madrid has taken longer than desired due to Benfica's rigidity in negotiations. The Portuguese club was reluctant to let the player leave, especially because they wanted to have him for the Club World Cup. However, after intense talks, both parties managed to reach an agreement.

This way, the former youth player of the white squad will return to Valdebebas. This time, he will do so as a member of the first team and with the goal of occupying the left-back position in Xabi Alonso's new project. Now, Real Madrid will have to study the departure of Ferland Mendy or Fran García, since there would be a clear "overbooking" at left-back.

Another signing. That's four already, and it could be five

This will be, once it becomes official, the third signing of the Xabi Alonso era—the fourth counting the Basque coach. After the already confirmed additions of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the next to join will be Álvaro Carreras. All three will be available to play in the Club World Cup, and an additional arrival before the start of the tournament is not ruled out.

In addition, once the competition ends, Real Madrid will focus their efforts on finalizing the signing of Franco Mastantuono. The Argentine has become a priority for Florentino Pérez, although Paris Saint-Germain would also be pushing hard.

Franco Mastantuono is not the only name that has been mentioned for Real Madrid's midfield. Angelo Stiller, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, and Tijjani Reijnders are other footballers who are also on the list of possible additions.
