25M and he's signed, Courtois's replacement says 'Yes' with one condition

The white executives are already considering the succession of the Madrid goalkeeping position for the Belgian '1'

Thibaut Courtois's injury, right before the brief international break and in the middle of preparations for the Club World Cup, has sparked a debate in Madrid. The board led by Florentino Pérez believed they had solved the medium-term future of the goal, but that injury may have changed the roadmap for the position.

Especially amid all the rumors placing one of their main domestic rivals, FC Barcelona, in the signing of a promising goalkeeper. The signing of Joan García by the blaugrana side is a move in which Real Madrid hadn't shown interest until now.

That stance could change dramatically due to Thibaut Courtois's injury and the favorable contract terms offered by Joan García himself. After all, Espanyol has made it clear that the Catalan '1' will only leave RCDE Stadium through the payment of his release clause, about 25 million euros.

This amount to be paid for Real Madrid's next starting goalkeeper for the next decade and a half is a very attractive deal in the Valdebebas offices. However, the club's leadership has received the only condition Joan García would set to switch from FC Barcelona to Real Madrid.

There is only one limit

After all, the 'Perico' footballer's development has shown that he is more than ready to perform at the highest level in the national elite. That's why Joan García would want to be the starter from the moment he arrives in Santiago Bernabéu locker room this very summer, a truly complicated situation... because Thibaut Courtois still has a contract with Real Madrid for one more season.

Given this, the only way Real Madrid could bring in the successor to the Belgian '1' is by accepting the European goalkeeper's role as a substitute. Thibaut Courtois would also have to accept some conditions that he might not agree to, especially after all the successes he has achieved as the number one goalkeeper in the first team.

In any case, Real Madrid already knows Joan García's requirements to accept the hypothetical approach from Real Madrid for his signing. Otherwise, everything suggests that the Espanyol player will slowly move closer to FC Barcelona. The Catalan club would take advantage of that 25 million euro release clause to secure the signing of their new goalkeeper.

Only the top executives led by Florentino Pérez could prevent a future that seems very close to becoming reality. Given this, the internal debate among the Merengue leadership about the first team's goalkeeping situation could change the future of Joan García, Thibaut Courtois, and Andriy Lunin.
