55M, the last-minute signing price Florentino could close

Some surprises at Real Madrid this summer still can't be ruled out

Real Madrid have been insisting for weeks that they consider their squad complete and that there won't be any signings. However, we already know that with Florentino, we have to wait until the last day. It wouldn't be the first time he surprises us with a last-minute addition.

This time, there's a name that's strongly rumored to make a splash when no one expects it. We're referring to Liverpool's center-back, Ibrahima Konaté, who's being strongly linked. He's the chosen one to strengthen the defense, and Real Madrid have drawn up a plan to secure his services.

His contract ends in 2026 and he still hasn't renewed, and it doesn't seem like they're going to end up doing so. Therefore, in a year he could leave for free, but a move this summer isn't ruled out. Especially because Liverpool might be willing to sit down and negotiate to avoid losing him for free.

Given his contract situation, everything would suggest that the Reds should accept a reasonable price for his transfer. However, it doesn't seem to be the case, as several sources indicate that they'll sell him for €55 million. It's a high figure considering that in a year he would be free.

Real Madrid are very positive about signing Konaté

The truth is that Real Madrid have been monitoring the possible signing of Konaté for some time. His contract situation makes him a very interesting player for immediate impact. He's 26 years old, has a lot of experience, and would also arrive on a free transfer, something very important to consider.

In addition, at the club, they believe they have options to secure his services. Among other things, he would find compatriots in the locker room such as Camavinga, Tchouaméni, or Mbappé. This could help convince him and lead him to accept the offer.

However, it doesn't seem likely to happen this summer due to his high price. They'll try again in January, but only if his demands have dropped and they need him because of injuries. Otherwise, they'll wait until the end of the season so he can arrive as a free agent.
