After Paying Negreira, Laporta's Advisor Links Real Madrid to the CTA

The Copa del Rey final sparked much discussion even before the match began. Real Madrid, upon the designation of the referees, expressed their displeasure, especially after the referees' statements. Although the match ended up being played, being one of the best of the year, Real Madrid received endless criticism.

One of the most striking came from Laporta's advisor, Enric Masip. "Most of the CTA presidents have been Real Madrid members," he commented in an evident and strong attack on Real Madrid. Through these words, Masip has pointed to Real Madrid as the main beneficiary of having a member as the CTA president.

"For two years, much of the press has been talking only about the 'Negreira Case'; Every time Barça has done well, the same thing has come up." These last words have shown that Masip, desperately, has tried to defend Barça.

The Attack on Real Madrid

The history between Real Madrid and Spanish soccer refereeing is a never-ending story. Despite not having major problems for much of the season, the refereeing stood out for its poor decisions over several matchdays. Making decisions that ended up taking the LaLiga lead away from Real Madrid, the club was clearly upset.

This led Real Madrid to demand changes in refereeing for the benefit of all LaLiga clubs. Despite their clear intentions, Real Madrid ended up receiving criticism like Masip's, questioning the values of the merengue institution.

Masip's words have been a regrettable attack with which he has sought to make it clear that Madrid has no right to complain. Implying that Real Madrid has been favored by the CTA, it seems Masip has forgotten whom he advises.

The Issue with the CTA

For some years now, it has been confirmed what everyone knew, Real Madrid is the most honorable team in Spain while Barcelona is not. Pointed out for several controversies throughout its history, the criticisms of the culés are well deserved.
