Álvaro Carreras's Agent Confirms His Future and Whether He Will Play for Real Madrid

Álvaro Carreras's agent confirms his future and whether he will play for Real Madrid

Throughout the entire season, a considerable number of names have been mentioned to be part of the white institution in different sectors of the squad. One of the most talked-about positions has been the full-backs, where interesting names stand out. In this regard, Álvaro Carreras, a former youth player of the white team, is strongly rumored to return to the white team.

However, his agent has surprisingly come out to speak a bit about the rumors placing him in Madrid. "I don't know where this news comes from, but he's very happy at Benfica and will stay there," was the emphatic response from his camp. With this, it is practically impossible for the player to return to the white institution as was desired for this summer.

Obviously, now the change of plans that Real Madrid must make if they truly have him on the list is more than evident. However, many fans really wanted to see this player return to the institution as a replacement for Mendy.

Álvaro's Option Fades Away

This player has had a simply spectacular performance with Benfica in the Portuguese league and even in the UEFA Champions League. At just 22 years old, he has emerged as one of the most interesting prospects for the left-back position.

Right now, he has been able to play a little over 4,000 minutes in 47 matches this season, which is simply a surprising number. Having passed through youth systems like Manchester United's and, of course, Real Madrid's, he has been trained through different great teams.

His market value, which is around 28 to 30 million euros, makes him a serious and economical candidate for the merengue left-back. However, with these statements, it seems unlikely that there could really be a move unless Madrid presents a formal offer.

Possibilities Dwindle

With this, it is very difficult to make a real approach if the player and his camp have no interest in returning. However, if they were just somewhat empty words from the people to provoke a reaction, they will have to at least give a hint of what they want.
