Al-Khelaïfi Makes a Move: The Revenge He Was Demanding for Mbappé Is Underway

The signing of the forward from Bondy remains a very thorny issue in the French capital

The elimination against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals, as well as the discreet performance of Carlo Ancelotti's pupils this season, has led to many reflections. One of the most popular is the need to add more players to the first team, especially in a defensive line weakened by injuries.

In that sense, the first signing that the leaders led by Florentino Pérez would have planned for the white defense is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The current '66' of Liverpool is expected, according to the latest information about his case, to arrive at Santiago Bernabéu locker room as a free agent. The bond between the English right-back and the merengue squad is really strong.

So much so that the operation would be "done" at a percentage equal to or greater than "90%", a number that varies depending on the source consulted. That being the case, Real Madrid continues to work on making Trent Alexander-Arnold's arrival a reality without neglecting other options for the right side of the white defense. Because Dani Carvajal is coming out of a long and serious injury and only has a contract until summer 2026.

Real Madrid is not the only team, however, keeping an eye on Trent Alexander-Arnold's contractual situation. While the merengue squad is consolidating as the main candidate to acquire his services, PSG has burst into the operation and is a strong offeror for the British defender.

Direct Warning

That would be the  "revenge" that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had wanted for so long against the Madrid entity. The  signing of Kylian Mbappé as a free agent last summer left a very deep mark on the reputation of the Parisian board... and an unsolved matter that could be definitively sealed with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool right-back, who is running out of time at Anfield Road, has not yet registered a change of mind regarding his most immediate sporting future. His focus remains on Real Madrid, but PSG also aspires to acquire his services with the freedom card.

Despite the presence of Achraf Hakimi, a key player for Luis Enrique on the right side of the rouge-et-bleu defense, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi doesn't hesitate to launch into the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold. While it is true that the '66' red occupies that same position, his versatility as a midfielder could offer him a place in the starting eleven of the French capital squad.

The current '2' of PSG was already considered by Real Madrid as an option to renew the right-back position, but Achraf Hakimi recently extended his bond with PSG... causing the white sports management to focus on an Alexander-Arnold whose future also raises serious doubts due to the action of the Gallic squad.
