Alphonso Davies's agent reveals why he hasn't signed for Real Madrid
The Canadian footballer has renewed with Bayern Munich until summer 2030.
One of the free agent signings that Real Madrid attempted this January has ended in failure. The operation to secure the services of Alphonso Davies, one of the most notable interests of the white team for several months, has not been favorable for the merengue team.
The saga surrounding the future of Bayern Munich's '19' revealed many ups and downs, approaches and distances from Real Madrid in the weeks leading up to January. Despite that unstable situation, the executives led by Florentino Pérez presented a contract offer to the agents of the left-back.

In the Valdebebas offices, they were clear that they were not willing to let this market opportunity pass without at least attempting to sign him from the Allianz Arena locker room. The merengue offer was very close to succeeding, but the approaches from the Bavarian club were reportedly more successful than the figures put forward by Real Madrid.
The economic differences between Bayern Munich's offer and the one sent by the white leadership were reportedly decisive in determining Davies's future in the European football elite. The official announcement of his continuity in the German squad, however, was not a surprise for the Madrid sports management: they have been looking for a new target in that market for weeks.
All clarified
The statements of Nedal Househ, Alphonso Davies's agent, clarify the process by which the Canadian defender has definitively ruled himself out of Santiago Bernabéu locker room. "Real Madrid was a serious option, no doubt", this representative points out. He also recalls that "we have spoken with them and with other clubs", a decision made by Davies's agents that didn't find much support among the Madrid bosses when it became known.
"But in the end, a decision had to be made: to stay at Bayern," Nedal Househ concludes. Thus, the North American footballer has signed a long-term contract with the German team... bidding farewell at the same time to any possibility of signing for Real Madrid in the future, both short and long term.

The executives led by Florentino Pérez, after this unexpected rejection suffered by Alphonso Davies, have definitively crossed his name off the agenda. The initial moves to find a new left-back are slow: they consider that Carlo Ancelotti has enough assets in Fran García and Ferland Mendy. At least until summer 2027, when both players' contracts end.
The names of Theo Hernández or Miguel Gutiérrez are now part of the Madrid rumor mill in terms of signings for that position. Especially Girona's '3', with a past in La Fábrica and whose hiring conditions would be especially favorable for Santiago Bernabéu stadium's coffers.
