Ancelotti is Clear about It: His Message Regarding the Possibility of Facing City
Real Madrid will face either Manchester City or Celtic in the next stage of the Champions League
Carlo Ancelotti appeared before the media after Real Madrid's victory against Brest (0-3) in France. The Italian coach spoke into the Movistar+ microphone about the possible game in the round of 16 against Manchester City.
Besides the potential clash against the 'cityzen' team, Real Madrid could face Celtic de Glasgow. The draw next Friday will decide the path of the current champion in this Champions League.
"There's a draw and whatever comes will be fine," said Carlo Ancelotti initially. However, the Italian coach was able to elaborate further in the press room.
Ancelotti shares his thoughts on the possible game against Manchester City
"We have to wait for the draw. If we get City, it will be more complicated for both, but we have to wait for the draw," stated Ancelotti. "It's a shame that it could have awakened a bit earlier in this competition. But we're happy to be at this level at this moment," he commented.
"In theory, City has more chances to win the Champions than Celtic. We don't like playing against City, but if we have to, we'll play against them as in recent years," added the Italian coach.
"We have to respect the table. I don't like this format because there are too many games. And my idea is to remove games so that the players wear out less," he explained.
Highlights the figure of Rodrygo Goes
Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti praised Rodrygo Goes after a match in which the Brazilian scored two more goals to his tally. The winger has already scored eleven goals in the last ten matches. Undoubtedly, he has perfectly filled the gap left by Vinícius in recent games.
"I've always seen him well, from the first year. He can succeed at certain moments, but he always works well for the team. If he doesn't score, his help is very important," said Carlo Ancelotti.
"I don't think playing two more games will harm us because we're gaining a good dynamic. We're doing very well physically and mentally. I have confidence because I see very good things on the field," he concluded.
