Ancelotti Knows It and Florentino Does Too: They Can't Both Stay at Real Madrid

The lack of playing time at Real Madrid is going to lead him to make the decision to leave

Real Madrid could face several challenges in the second half of the season regarding players' futures. Especially for those who are barely being considered by Ancelotti. This is the case of Lunin, who so far has only played when Courtois hasn't been available.

The Ukrainian renewed his contract at the start of the campaign, but it seems unlikely he can continue. Thibaut is closing all doors for him, especially given the level he's showing. That's why Lunin is already considering a possible departure in 2025, for the next season.

Ancelotti knows that right now it's impossible to bench Courtois, who has returned to his best form. He's the best goalkeeper in the world, and Florentino knows it too, so they're looking for solutions. However, the Belgian still needs to solve his situation as his contract ends in 2026.

However, everything indicates that his negotiations won't be very complicated and they could sign him during the first months of 2025. Therefore, if he renews, Lunin will have to look for a way out. Real Madrid is willing to listen to offers if the Ukrainian goalkeeper requests it.

A different situation is experienced by another player always labeled as transferable

In the first matches of the season, it seemed that Ceballos was going to be in the same situation as Lunin. The player from Utrera was barely in Ancelotti's plans and was not getting minutes on the field. In fact, there was already speculation about his departure even during the winter market.

However, little by little, he has carved out a place in the rotation, even starting in many matches. To such an extent has he turned his situation around that no one is thinking about his departure anymore. Right now, they count on him, and he's becoming a significant part of the team's play.

Among other things, because Ceballos is the only player who has managed to take on Toni Kroos's duties. He's contributing a lot, especially in building the play and breaking the press. That's why, unlike Lunin, Dani's continuity is more or less assured.
