Ancelotti Opens the Exit Door for Endrick and Florentino Already Has a Replacement
Ancelotti doesn't mind the Brazilian gaining experience on loan, and De Ketelaere is chosen to replace him
The Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has caused a stir at Real Madrid. In a meeting with the board, he's raised doubts about Endrick's adaptation to European soccer.
The young Brazilian, who arrived in the 2024 summer, hasn't fully convinced the Madrid coach. Although his performances have been good, he's been too individualistic in his desire to stand out in his opportunities. Combined with Real Madrid's demands, his participation has been reduced.
Therefore, a departure in the 2025 summer in the form of a loan to continue developing but with competitive opportunities is not ruled out.
There's already a replacement
Ancelotti already has a plan B on the table. The chosen name is Charles De Ketelaere, the current Atlanta's forward who arrived from Milan.
The Belgian is one of the great revelations of the season. He's played 24 matches with Atalanta, scoring 10 goals distributed among Serie A (5), Champions League (3), and Coppa Italia (2).
His versatility and scoring ability have caught the attention of Europe's top clubs. Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham, and Arsenal are also closely following his progress.
The operation wouldn't be simple. Atalanta executed the purchase option of 23 million euros they had after the loan from Milan.
Sources close to the Italian club assure that they wouldn't sell the player for less than 45 million. A figure that Real Madrid considers excessive.
Endrick's future in the air
Endrick's situation is causing concern. The Brazilian has seen his participation reduced over the months, despite a great start.
His statistics don't help either, he's played 15 matches in which he's scored two goals. However, he's only started one match, in the Champions League, and has accumulated only 159 minutes throughout the season.
De Ketelaere, on the other hand, knows European soccer perfectly. At 23 years old, he's shown maturity and versatility in attack.
The Belgian can play as a pure '9' or second forward. A versatility that especially appeals to Ancelotti.
Florentino Pérez is considering all options. The investment made in Endrick (35 million plus variables) complicates a definitive departure.
The club only considers a loan for Endrick for the summer of 2025. His sale is completely ruled out by the Madrid management.
The next transfer window will be decisive. Real Madrid will have to decide whether to maintain their bet on Endrick or explore new alternatives like De Ketelaere.
