Ancelotti Begins His Press Conference With an Epic Jab at Tebas: 'Stay Calm...'

Reggiolo's mister isn't unaware of what has happened in recent days at the institutional level

Real Madrid is just one day away from the Madrid classic, a key match in the fight for the LaLiga leadership. The one-point difference between the white club and Atlético de Madrid, its immediate pursuer, makes the clash at Santiago Bernabéu clearly a must-win.

As usual, Carlo Ancelotti has appeared in the press room of Ciudad Real Madrid to answer questions from the media related to the match. But he was greatly surprised when one of the first questions was related to the great and recent refereeing controversy.

The letter published by Real Madrid last Monday, resulting among other things from the frustration over the disastrous refereeing at RCDE Stadium, caused a "earthquake" in Spanish soccer. The statements against that supposed measure of "pressure" toward the refereeing group have come from all sides, including the president of LaLiga.

Javier Tebas's words about Real Madrid TV and the white club, a new attack, have found a reply in Carlo Ancelotti. The Reggiolo coach makes it clear that "Tebas can rest assured because no one here has lost their mind. I think what has happened these days is simply asking for an explanation of what has happened".

Surprise and sincerity

The objective of that action, reveals the Italian strategist, is "to try to improve things and change a system with which, from what I hear, no one is happy. Because we are not happy in one sense and I think everyone else is not happy because they think it is a system that favors Real Madrid". Those haven't been the only statements from the merengue coach regarding this enduring controversy.

Carlo Ancelotti reveals that "when Real Madrid wants to change this system, everyone is against it. This surprises me a bit, but I have already said: I would like to talk about soccer and tomorrow's match". Despite everything, the Madrid coach makes a final remark on this controversial issue:  "but I repeat, Tebas has to stay calm, none of us has lost our mind".

This message to the president of LaLiga after his latest statements is, at the same time, a declaration of intentions. The entity presided over by Florentino Pérez, since the outbreak of the 'Negreira case', advocates for the total regeneration of the group and the refereeing system. As Carlo Ancelotti points out, that proposal generates an unusual resistance.

Such a disposition is surprising because, in every matchday, there are always clubs that criticize the referees' performance. These protests are not always related to Real Madrid, something that would give more reasons to join the white initiative to change the current state of affairs. To Carlo Ancelotti's surprise, that hypothetical reality is far from materializing.
