Ancelotti's Reply on Whether He Will Stay at Madrid if He Wins LaLiga or the Champions
The Italian coach has secured his continuity for next season if the club wins one of the two titles
Carlo Ancelotti has left the door open to his continuity at Real Madrid. When asked if he would remain in charge of the team if he won LaLiga or the Champions League, the Italian replied sincerely.
"If I win La Liga or the Champions League, will I stay at Real Madrid? I think so, we want to stay together. If something strange happens, there might be a change; it's what sometimes happens in soccer. But right now, we're fine. They trust my work, and I trust what they bring me."
Madrid, solid leader in LaLiga
Real Madrid leads LaLiga with 49 points. They are four points ahead of Atlético de Madrid, their closest pursuer, and seven ahead of FC Barcelona.
The team's consistency in the domestic tournament has strengthened Ancelotti's position. However, everything at Real Madrid is measured by results, especially in Europe.
The challenge in the Champions League
In the Champions League, Real Madrid seeks to qualify among the top eight teams. They face Brest, thirteenth in the unified group stage.
To advance, the team needs to beat Brest by three goals or more and have other key results occur:
- Barcelona must defeat Atalanta.
- Lille and Feyenoord need to draw.
- Aston Villa must lose against Celtic.
- Monaco has to fall to Inter.
- Bayern can't win by more than two goals.
Ancelotti is convinced that there is mutual trust between him and the club. His experience and leadership have been essential in keeping the team competitive both in Spain and Europe.
However, the coach is also aware of the demands that come with coaching Real Madrid. "In football, anything can happen," he admitted, making it clear that his continuity will depend on both the results and the club's decisions.
An uncertain but optimistic future
With Madrid leading La Liga and aiming for another great season in the Champions League, Ancelotti has reasons to be optimistic. His continuity could depend on the titles he wins this year.
The coming months will be crucial for the Italian coach, who remains focused on consolidating his team as the best in Europe.
