Announce Simeone's Farewell to Atlético: He Will Resign After Nearly 14 Years
Simeone is one step away from leaving Atlético de Madrid after almost 14 years and things will change
Atlético de Madrid's Season Has Caused Much Commotion. Diego Pablo Simeone's players were aiming for a treble that would have marked a turning point... but they have been left out of practically all competitions.
Their only hope, beyond a League that they find very difficult to win, is in the Club World Cup. The defeats against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona cast the shadow of doubt on one of the club's most important figures: their coach.
Future Under Review?
One of the unions that we could definitely consider as one of the longest and most important in the world of soccer is that of Atlético de Madrid with Simeone. The Argentine coach has been a standard-bearer for the colchonero team over the last 14 years. However, it seems that the situation between both parties would be more deteriorated than ever.
As of today, it seems that the South American coach himself is considering the possibility of leaving the Madrid institution. This could be a great loss for the team from the Spanish capital, as he is their top representative. Right now, the options the coach is considering could be Inter Milan or the Argentine National Team.

Everything seems to indicate that now the responsibility falls into the hands of Enrique Cerezo, the club's president, to do something. Although surely, considering that this is already discussed, they might already have some prospect in sight.
Simeone Might Not Continue
The Argentine coach has been an essential piece for the development of modern Atlético de Madrid and making it somewhat competitive. Obviously, a figure like him is praised 100% by his fans, who would be very hurt to see him leave.
However, being in charge of a club like this for almost 14 years must be very complicated without being able to win much. Not to mention the fact that he is the highest-paid coach in the world with the mediocre results he manages to achieve each season.
Despite this, Simeone seems to be completely exhausted by all the effort it entails and is thinking about a sabbatical year. This is just before taking a step forward in what could be his next big project if he fulfills his dream. Although many see it as very difficult for him to become the Argentine coach while Scaloni is present.

We'll See What Happens
For now, everything points to the Argentine coach staying at the institution until making a definitive decision. However, maybe at the end of the season, the colchoneros might have some surprise regarding whether or not they will have their coach.
