Castilla lost to Andorra, but Rachad Fettal confirmed his excellent form

Real Madrid Castilla keeps showing great play in preseason matches. Although Álvaro Arbeloa's pupils couldn't overcome FC Andorra (1-3), a Segunda División club, the overall feeling was quite positive. 

After half an hour in which FC Andorra dominated the match, Real Madrid Castilla managed to recover with a goal from Rachad Fettal. However, the Andorran side ended up winning the match in the final moments with two very quick goals.

Rachad Fettal, the new goal scorer for Real Madrid Castilla

The goal for Real Madrid Castilla was once again scored by Rachad Fettal. The forward has already scored 4 goals in just 3 preseason matches, showing that he can be Gonzalo García's replacement in the reserve team. 

In a team that has lost Jacobo Ramón, Youssef, or Víctor Muñoz, but has gained Joan Martínez or Jesús Fortea, Rachad Fettal will be the "9". It's also important to note that players like Daniel Yáñez and even Thiago Pitarch were with the first team.

The Spanish-Moroccan forward arrived this summer at Valdebebas from UD Almería, where he alternated between the reserve team and the first team last season. He scored two goals in his debut against Marbella coming off the bench and found the net again against Racing de Ferrol. Today, against a club from a higher division, another goal for his personal tally.

When does Real Madrid Castilla's season start?

Just like with the first team, Madridists are also keeping an eye on the start of Castilla's season. They'll do so on August 31 against CD Lugo at Valdebebas. The second matchday will also be at home against Racing de Ferrol.

Although it seemed to be a transitional year for Castilla, the team's play in preseason suggests otherwise. Therefore, we could be looking at a season in which Álvaro Arbeloa and his men are fighting for the promotion play-offs.

However, before kicking off, Castilla still have three more friendlies before starting Primera Federación: against Valencia Mestalla, Alcorcón, and Ibiza.
