Arda Güler warns Xabi, his future is hanging in the air and he could leave: 'For me, it's the best'

Real Madrid, in Club World Cup mode, will play the second match of the "new" FIFA tournament against Mexican side Pachuca this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (Spanish time). On the occasion of the event, Arda Güler appeared in the mixed zone to talk about the match and also address other more personal matters.

The Ottoman footballer, who played the second half of Wednesday's match against Al-Hilal (1-1), is one of the main attractions for Madridists and could end up establishing himself ahead of the new season, which will be his third year at Chamartín. Arda is confident he will establish himself this year and has already set his first goals: "Play as much as possible and win every trophy."

"For now I haven't thought about leaving, but of course if I don't play I think about everything, but for now I'm totally focused on Real Madrid. The difference with Türkiye is that I play every match there, I have more confidence, people know me better," Güler added upon the team's arrival in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the white team will play tonight at Bank of America Stadium.

"I feel very important with Xabi Alonso because he's always talking to me. I played 45 minutes the other day. It seems like I'm better. He sees me more as a midfielder; it's better for me, better than on the wing," said Güler, who stated he feels "very motivated, I have to adapt and give one hundred percent, but I'm ready."

Xabi praises him

Xabi Alonso appeared shortly after Güler, along with Thibaut Courtois and Arda Güler, and was asked about the Turk, acknowledging at the same time that the group is doing very well and is eager to improve and keep growing. "We've had five training sessions and everything takes time, but the schedule forces you to compete well," said the Tolosa-born coach.

"Arda is one of those players who has to be close to the ball. He's very special. The more he touches the ball, the more he's going to help the team. In the second half he had a great performance. The closer he is to the action, the better," Xabi added, who is gradually revealing the plan he has for each footballer, as well as the style and footballing concept he wants for the group.
