Atlético Don't Forget Real Madrid and Report 4 Players to UEFA
Vinicius, Mbappé, Rüdiger, and Ceballos have been reported by the Colchoneros for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' during the celebration
Atlético de Madrid still hasn't moved on from their elimination in the Champions League. Although Real Madrid is already focused on their quarter-final match against Arsenal, the classic continues to generate controversy.
The red-and-white club has sent UEFA four videos in which they report the actions of Antonio Rüdiger, Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., and Dani Ceballos after the match.
Investigation Underway
UEFA has taken note of the complaint and has begun a review of the footage. The incidents occurred after Madrid's victory in the penalty shootout at the Metropolitano.
The four footballers celebrated with the white fans, but some of their gestures have been considered provocations.
Antonio Rüdiger could be sanctioned for bringing his hand to his neck in a gesture that has caused controversy.
Kylian Mbappé is also under scrutiny. The Frenchman made a gesture with his genitals that could be punished.

Vinícius Jr. had several tense moments with the stands, with defiant gestures before and after the match.
Dani Ceballos, despite not being drafted due to injury, joined the celebrations and has been included in the complaint.
Possible Sanctions
Now, UEFA has appointed an instructor who will be the one to propose the sanction for the white players.
According to UEFA's Disciplinary Code, Article 11 states that any "abusive conduct" or that "discredits soccer" can be punished.
The key is in Article 15, which states that "unsporting conduct" and "provocation of spectators" can result in a sanction of at least one match.
However, there is also the possibility that they will only receive a financial fine. A relevant precedent is that of Diego Simeone in 2019, when he was fined 20,000 euros for a gesture similar to Mbappé's, but without a match ban.

Atlético Seeks Punishment
The colchonero team hopes that UEFA will take action against the Madrid players. They consider their attitudes a lack of respect and are calling for an exemplary sanction.
For now, Real Madrid hasn't issued an official statement on the situation.
