Balboa Had to Make a Note and Puts a 'but' to Vinícius' 'The Best': 'I Have Too Much...'
The 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' host doesn't hold anything back after the success of the Brazilian player
The reactions to Vinícius Jr.'s victory in the 'The Best' have been very quick to come in. In addition to congratulations from the entire soccer world, including some soccer legends, there have also been some criticisms as regards the words he used.
Because Vinícius took advantage of having won this individual trophy, especially after all the controversy with the Ballon d'Or, to send a message in several ways, vindicating himself before his critics. Javi Balboa doesn't share the moment or the ways that Vinícius himself used to oppose his opponents.
The host on El Chiringuito de Jugones, player for the white club for a short period of time, asked Tomás Roncero: "Is there nothing left over in the message?" These doubts caught the attention of Josep Pedrerol, who urged Balboa to express himself clearly.
The former Madrid player admits that "I understand that he wants to redeem himself, but it is a bit like his way of being and what he has been showing all this time." Despite this initial show of understanding, Balboa quotes the beginning of the message sent by Vinícius and says without hesitation: "I don't know, I think it's not relevant, right?"
Difference of opinion
"They're giving you an award, in this case for the best, and he... what Quim[Domènech]says, he's hurt and he's coming to bring out things that he's had inside for a long time." The challenge that Vinícius would've launched with his message just after winning 'The Best', according to Javi Balboa, "I think is irrelevant."
The commentator points out that "I think it's a bit too much", especially given the context in which those words are said. Javi Balboa points out how Vinícius should have behaved, focusing exclusively on everything related to 'The Best'... leaving out the criticism and discredit he has received for so many years.
The reality is rather different, as Vinícius is now beginning to respond to the attitudes and words he began to receive and hear since his arrival at the white club. At that time he was barely 18 years old but he was already subjected to brutal scrutiny that didn't forgive him a single mistake and made him the object of constant ridicule.
Contrary to what many thought, the '7' was able to abstract himself from that harmful influence and managed to become the most decisive player in Europe, a 'title' that he retains. The next great opportunity to "do ten times better", as he warned just over two months ago, is waiting for him: it will be at the Lusail stadium against Mexican side Pachuca.
