Bellingham Exploded at Halftime Against de Burgos Bengoechea: 'For Them...'

The English midfielder ended the first half upset with referee De Burgos Bengoetxea's decisions

Jude Bellingham was one of the main protagonists in the Copa del Rey final. Real Madrid fell defeated 3-2, but the Briton did not go unnoticed. Especially due to his anger with the referee, De Burgos Bengoechea.

Movistar's cameras captured the moment. Just at the end of the first half, while the players were heading to the locker room, Bellingham exploded.

He shouted in English, visibly angry: "Everything goes for them. Everything that's 50/50 goes for them. Everything, everything..." he repeated as he walked.

Conversation Between De Burgos and the Technical Staff

The referee, who was a few meters behind, was speaking at that moment with Francesco Mauri, Ancelotti's assistant. De Burgos asked, intrigued: "Did something happen for this to occur?" Mauri, gesturing, explained something related to the protests of the white players.

The referee insisted on his stance: "I speak with respect, I always speak to them with respect", he emphasized. Mauri, in a calm tone, appreciated his attitude: "Great, perfect, I appreciate it." Thus ended their brief exchange before both continued toward the locker rooms.

More Protests and a Final Expulsion

The English midfielder not only complained about the referee's decisions. He also protested about the state of the field. "Why? Why? It's crazy, damn it!" he shouted in English, addressing the fourth official, according to Movistar's images. The specific action that motivated this reaction was not detailed.

Bellingham, far from calming down, became even more heated at the end of the match. According to the referee's report, he approached the referees' area "in an aggressive manner" and had to be restrained by his own teammates to prevent further issues.

His behavior cost him a direct red card. Now, Jude faces a sanction of between two and three matches. If punished with two matches, he would serve the full sanction in the next edition of the Copa del Rey.

De Burgos Bengoechea's performance caused a lot of discomfort within Real Madrid. Bellingham, one of the most temperamental players on the field, was the one who expressed the team's frustration most vehemently.

The final, therefore, left not only the defeat but also a disciplinary issue that could have consequences in the future.
