Borussia Dortmund could 'save' Rodrygo: the deal that changes the market
The unexpected transfer Borussia Dortmund is seeking to make that would finalize Rodrygo's departure from Real Madrid
After Viktor Gyökeres's transfer, Arsenal stopped being an option for Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian winger has gone from having many offers to having to look for a club that might still be interested. This, as we know at Defensa Central, could change if Leandro Trossard leaves Arsenal to play for Borussia Dortmund.
If the Belgian winger ends up being signed by the German squad, Arsenal's doors will open again for Rodrygo. With a contract until 2026, selling Trossard wouldn't be a bad move for the 'Gunner' club. The club would say goodbye to a player who was a great help last season to welcome a star like Rodrygo.
With the time remaining before the end of the transfer window, this deal could still be possible. Everything depends on whether Dortmund agrees to pay the price to take Trossard from Arsenal. €15 million ($15 million) is the amount to be paid, which, for the German club, is very affordable.
Help from Germany
At 24 years old, everything points to Rodrygo Goes leaving Real Madrid this summer. At least, this was the Brazilian's situation at the start of the transfer window, with interest from Arsenal, City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. After the signings made by most of these clubs, Rodrygo's options were reduced.

Despite 14 goals and 11 assists last season, Rodrygo can still improve this performance. His numbers, of course, are better than Trossard's. The 30-year-old winger managed 10 goals and the same number of assists last season.
Given his age, contract, and contributions, his departure would be beneficial for Arsenal. In addition, his signing by Dortmund would leave the left winger position open. This is Rodrygo's natural role, who has played on the right due to Vinícius Júnior's presence.
One last opportunity
Although rumors pointed to interest from Tottenham, Arsenal is a better option for Rodrygo. Trossard's departure would give the Brazilian the opportunity to join a club where he could reconnect with his best version.
