Tomás Roncero's brutal review of Vinícius before the PSG-Real Madrid match: he doesn't hold back

The journalist and Madridist commentator sends a forceful message to the white '7'

The Club World Cup is highlighting several standout players at Real Madrid. Most of that attention is focusing on footballers who didn't enjoy many minutes under Carlo Ancelotti: Xabi Alonso's arrival has changed that adverse situation. Other regular starters are beginning to adapt to the plans of the manager from Reggiolo.

Not so for Vinícius Jr. The verdeamarelo footballer still needs to reconnect with his best version, a task he would have dedicated himself to during the second half of the 24/25 campaign, but with hardly any success. In that sense, many expected Xabi Alonso to have the keys to turn the situation around.

So far, the manager from Tolosa has only managed to get Vinícius to score one goal: it was in the match against RB Salzburg, in the third game of the group stage. While it's true that Vinícius hasn't stopped trying his best moves and dribbles, he isn't delivering or achieving the results he used to show on the field.

That situation is starting to cause concern both inside and outside the white technical staff. Especially for Tomás Roncero, who is getting serious on "El Chiringuito de Jugones," and sends a very forceful message to the Carioca footballer: "What he's saying is 'wake up'". Tomás Roncero points out that he understands that position from the white manager because Vinícius "is world-class," a level he wouldn't be showing right now.

He must find himself again

The journalist himself, always linked to Real Madrid, admits it: "In this Club World Cup, he isn't playing like a world-class player, only on the day against Salzburg did he do so", Tomás Roncero understands. He also makes it clear that "Vinícius can play every day like he did against Salzburg. What needs to be said is 'wake up, Vini, because when you want to, you make a difference up and down the field, you win the match by yourself'".

The panelist from "El Chiringuito de Jugones" recalls that "In the last matches, you haven't done it", showing a performance that falls short of the expectations many have for him. "You need to wake up because there's a kid, 21 years old, there's a guy who's taking your spot", the journalist emphasizes, clearly referring to what happened with Gonzalo García.

The progress of Real Madrid's number 30 has sparked a striking debate regarding the current roster of first-team forwards. Both Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius himself seem untouchable, but Gonzalo García's emergence has meant a more than striking change in the dynamics of Xabi Alonso's first team.

Tomás Roncero hints at the possibility that Real Madrid's number 30 could form the starting attacking line, alongside Kylian Mbappé, in the semifinals against PSG. That decision by the manager from Tolosa would send several messages at the same time, clearly marking the preferences of the new white coach.
