Real Madrid has found in France one of Europe's most promising central defenders

A few days ago, reports emerged about possible interest from Manchester City in Abdukodir Khusanov. The young 20-year-old central defender playing for RC Lens in Ligue 1 would be under the watchful eye of PepGuardiola.

The English club is looking to strengthen its defense in the winter market after a series of injuries have affected its performance. Additionally, the player has also caught the attention of Newcastle United, another team that has knocked on his door.

However, according to the latest developments, Real Madrid is also interested in Abdukodir Khusanov. The white team, in need of a central defender, has the young and promising player from RC Lens in its sights.

Who is Khusanov?

Abdukodir Khusanov, capped 18 times for Uzbekistan, joined RC Lens in July 2023 from Energetik-BGU in Belarus. Since his arrival, he has played 31 games with the French team, 16 of them in the current season.

The player is performing at a very notable level, which has made him one of the biggest promises in Europe.

How much could his transfer be worth?

Besides Real Madrid, other clubs like Manchester City, Newcastle United, or Tottenham have shown interest in him. In Ligue 1 itself, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon have also inquired about his services and have already closely monitored the player.

It's estimated that his transfer could be around 20 million euros, an affordable amount for the merengue club, which could indeed pay it. However, Real Madrid is keeping an eye on his growth, as a high level is needed to play at Bernabéu.

It's important to understand that Abdukodir Khusanov hasn't played any significant matches and that the level in France is not the same as in Spain. In fact, between injuries and the level he's shown, Leny Yoro hasn't proven to be worth the millions United paid.

For this very reason, Real Madrid will be watching his progression, and if Florentino Pérez deems it appropriate, they will make an offer.
