Calafat loses another one, leaves Real Madrid and joins a LaLiga rival, it's official
The recent transfer in which Real Madrid and Juni Calafat have lost an important asset
Looking ahead to next season, Real Madrid is completely focused on signing several reinforcements. By securing the transfer of Dean Huijsen, Alexander-Arnold, and the arrival of Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid is strengthening in a solid way. However, Real Madrid has lost the services of an important member of Juni Calafat's team.
Javier Tejero, one of the scouts under Calafat's command, has left Real Madrid to sign with Leganés. This is to work under Andrés Pardo, who was head of national recruitment for Real Madrid's youth academy. After joining Real Madrid in 2021, Pardo left this summer to become Leganés's sporting director.

With Tejero now serving as Leganés's technical secretary, Real Madrid has lost a member who was key in several past signings. Without a doubt, this move has been a tough blow for Real Madrid but, above all, for Juni Calafat's team.
Another painful departure for Calafat
Considered one of the most important people for Real Madrid, Juni Calafat has been key in signing young prospects. With the support of his team, Calafat is responsible for several of the Merengues' successes. By securing the transfer of Real Madrid's current stars, the departures of Tejero and Pardo have been a tough blow.
Having built a solid and successful team, Calafat has now been left without two of his most trusted men. This, in addition to affecting Calafat, could represent a significant problem for Real Madrid when it comes to future signings of young talents.

Knowing perfectly well how Calafat operates, it wouldn't be a surprise if Leganés starts poaching some talents from Real Madrid. Even so, as he has shown in the past, Calafat has a unique talent that he'll have to showcase once again.
Real Madrid's farewells
Besides the farewell of several Real Madrid legends at the end of the season, the club has also suffered the departures of Tejero and Pardo. While their talent is unmatched, Real Madrid trusts they'll find the right people for Calafat's new team.
