Carvajal Announces His Future, Bye to Madrid and Retirement Date: I'm No Longer...

Leganés's '2' is recovering from a triple tear in the right knee.

One of the players concerning Madrid fans is Dani Carvajal. The Madrid-born player started this season as he finished the last one: being one of Carlo Ancelotti's best men. However, his triple tear in the right knee will keep him off the field for quite some time.

While it's true that the recovery from this serious injury is progressing favorably and at an excellent pace, doubts about the defender's future arise quickly. Dani Carvajal himself has spoken clearly about what could happen when his contract with Real Madrid ends, recently renewed until 2026.

Carvajal, in that sense, acknowledges that "I'm 32 years old. I'm not a kid anymore". It is clear that his time in European soccer's elite is quickly endingt: "What do I have left? Four or five years of soccer? Time flies", he confesses in an interview.

Madrid will try to extend his stay in Santiago Bernabéu changing room for as long as possible... as long as his performance warrants it. Those annual renewals could be interrupted at some point due to the emergence of other more interesting sports projects for him.

Beyond 2026

One of the most 'attractive' environments for veteran players in the European elite is Qatar. Although not many have arrived there yet, Dani Carvajal considers that option as something plausible. "I wouldn't think it's crazy," explains the Madrid-born player.

The reason for that decision is simple: "I already said that if I left Real Madrid, I wouldn't play in Europe. Nor would I compete with Madrid in the Champions League or in Spain". That 'last service' Dani Carvajal would do for the white entity is another gesture that reveals the great relationship between the white leadership and one of its most recent legends.

However, that future hasn't arrived. Dani Carvajal still has a season pending, the 25/26 campaign, to establish himself as one of the best right-backs in the history of the white club. "Qatar is a possible destination", states the '2' from Leganés about his competitive future.

Meanwhile, from the Valdebebas offices, they are handling several names to find his successor. The candidacy of Trent Alexander-Arnold seems today the most suitable, although some players from La Fábrica are also showing the level to reach the first team.
