Ceballos hesitates and will talk to Xabi Alonso, he is considering a drastic decision after the World Cup

One of the players with the fewest minutes in the World Cup from Real Madrid was Dani Ceballos. According to Marca newspaper, this has led the player to seek a conversation with Xabi Alonso to define his role within the team. A situation that is not new at all, as we know at Defensa Central, for a player who has already been on the exit list.

Having played just 70 minutes, Ceballos was behind Luka Modric despite the Croatian's age and his imminent departure. Although Ceballos wants to stay at Real Madrid, his interest lies in what Xabi wants. The coach has the power to decide the future of a midfielder for whom there could be offers this transfer window.

If an acceptable offer is made, Real Madrid wouldn't cause problems to allow his departure. However, given the current situation in the Merengue midfield, Xabi must consider whether it's a good idea to say goodbye to Ceballos.

A future full of uncertainty

Dani Ceballos's time at Real Madrid has been plagued by ups and downs since his signing in 2017. Leaving on loan to Arsenal in 2019, Ceballos returned in 2021 under Carlo Ancelotti's management.  Although the player from Utrera was important during several matches for the Italian coach, his situation was always uncertain.

Whether due to injuries or a low level of performance, Ceballos became increasingly sidelined from the team until last season. After managing to make a comeback following the squad's injuries, everything pointed to Ceballos finally becoming important. The Club World Cup proved otherwise

However, Xabi Alonso has shown that he doesn't fully trust the experienced midfielder's abilities.  With a contract until 2027, Dani Ceballos's future as a Real Madrid player will be decided in the coming days.

If he leaves, Real Madrid could receive a significant income to use during this transfer window. Even so, if Güler continues to be the new playmaker for Real Madrid, Xabi is aware that he'll need a replacement for any situation.
