Chema Alonso ridicules Jota Jordi, responds to his accusation: The real fi...

Chema is adamant: His collaboration with CTA is selfless and he doesn't have any power over VAR or the referees

The Barça pundit Jota Jordi once again set social media ablaze. This time, with a direct accusation against Real Madrid:
"Real Madrid's real signings this year are in the offices. In the CTA, in the RFEF, in La Liga...", he wrote on X, insinuating that the white club has influence in Spanish soccer organizations.

The response was swift. It came from Chema Alonso's personal blog, "A Computer Scientist on the Dark Side," where he clarified his role in the Technical Committee of Referees.

Chema Alonso responds with irony and clarity

In his post, Chema dismantled the pundit's theories point by point.

First, he clarified that he is an external advisor to the CTA, not an employee of the committee or the RFEF. His only role is to attend meetings to solve technological questions related to artificial intelligence.

"I'm not going to decide on VAR or create technology to referee matches," he concluded. He also reminded readers that this development is handled by Sportian, a LaLiga company.

He also explained that his appointment has nothing to do with Real Madrid, although he did not hide his support. "I've always been a Real Madrid fan," he confessed with humor.

No salary and no power in refereeing

Chema was blunt: his collaboration with the CTA is altruistic. Whatever he receives for attending meetings will be donated to an NGO, as he has done on other occasions.

"It's not for money or influence. They asked me for help and I accepted because I want to contribute through technology. Nothing more," he explained.

He even mentioned that before accepting, he called friends from Atleti and Real Madrid to consider whether he should get involved. They encouraged him to do it.

Humor and passion for soccer without fanaticism

Chema Alonso also took time to talk about his relationship with soccer. He said that he watches few matches a year, that his daughter is an Atleti ultra, and that he enjoys the banter with his friends more than the results.

He has Barça friends, Barça jerseys, photos with legends from all teams, and even goes to the Metropolitano frequently.

To conclude, he sent a veiled message to Jota Jordi: "If VAR makes a mistake, look for the culprit somewhere else. I'll be watching TV." An intelligent, ironic, and devastating response.
