The condition Real Madrid sets to buy Nico Paz, fourth signing on the way

The White executives send an important message to both the player and the Italian bosses

Xabi Alonso's arrival has brought multiple changes to the first team. Those tactical modifications have led the renewed starting eleven to introduce players who, during Carlo Ancelotti's tactical tenure, didn't stand out. One of the most notable cases is Arda Güler, who has finally found his place in the team.

The new role that the Turkish "15" has received from Xabi Alonso seems to be the right decision in the competitive management of this young European prospect. His positioning at the base of the play has made him the "successor" of a now-retired Toni Kroos... and of a Luka Modric who will leave the white team when the Club World Cup ends.

In any case, Real Madrid's midfield doesn't only see Arda Güler included as a major new addition. The signing of Franco Mastantuono is one of the most desired signings by all Madridists, an addition that will become a reality next August, in preparation for the 25/26 season.

With River Plate's "30" in the squad, in addition to the new leading role that Arda Güler has assumed in recent matches, it seems truly difficult to secure a spot. As things stand, the player who would have been left without the space he so desired is Nico Paz. The former white youth player has played his first season in the European football elite at Como 1907 under Cesc Fàbregas, delivering a rather positive performance.

He still has options

Real Madrid considered for several weeks bringing back the Italian squad's "79", but Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono are its main obstacles to fulfilling his only requirement. If the Argentine attacking midfielder returns to the white first team this summer, he wants to enjoy a more than reasonable amount of minutes.

That playing time can't be guaranteed right now. That's why Nico Paz is getting closer to staying, at least for one more year, at Como 1907 under Cesc Fàbregas. Under the orders of the Catalan coach, he knows he'll have the necessary minutes to catch Lionel Scaloni's attention and be drafted for the 2026 World Cup.

From the Valdebebas offices, they are aware of the particular situation Nico Paz is going through, so they are willing to let him continue in the Italian discipline. But their only condition is to negotiate an extension of the current buy-back clause, which leaves the transfer of the Argentine "79" at just eight million euros.

If the top officials at Como 1907 agree to keep that clause in Nico Paz's contract, the Madrid leadership would allow the Argentine attacking midfielder to continue in Serie A... hoping to bring him back starting in the summer of 2026, when more reinforcements are needed for the midfield. The refusal of the Italian team would force the white leaders to follow a roadmap that still isn't very clear.
