Confirmed line-up for Real Madrid for the Copa del Rey match against Celta
Carlo Ancelotti bets on a massive rotation against Celta de Vigo in the Copa del Rey
Real Madrid will close the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey tonight against Celta de Vigo, in a knockout match they will play against Celta de Vigo.
Those led by Carlo Ancelotti, who reunite with their fans tonight after what happened in the Spanish Super Cup, will go for the victory from the first minute.
"We have an important opportunity to come back from a bad game, which hurt us a lot. However, we're not down, we want to react. This match against a well-playing opponent is good for us. Hopefully, the team can have a good reaction after the bad game the other day. Everyone has recovered well physically from what we've seen in today's training. I might change something, but the idea is to field the best possible team against Celta. Lunin will play in goal," explained the Italian coach in a press conference.
The coaching staff has opted for a line-up full of rotations, something Carlo Ancelotti hinted at beforehand, although the surprising thing is that he keeps Aurélien Tchouaméni in the "XI."
The novelty is that the Frenchman will start the match as a pivot, joined by Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos, while Raúl Asencio will be in the center of defense.
The young academy player, who is a great attraction for Madrid fans, will be in defense with Lucas Vázquez, Antonio Rüdiger, and Fran García.
Massive Rotation
Ferland Mendy, Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Rodrygo Goes will start the match on the bench, which makes it clear that the coaching staff wants to see the less regular players in action.
Additionally, Thibaut Courtois, who hasn't been drafted by Ancelotti, has left his place to Andriy Lunin, who already defended the goal against Deportiva Minera in the previous round.
Real Madrid's Line-up
Andriy Lunin; Lucas Vázquez, Raúl Asencio, Antonio Rüdiger, Fran García; Luka Modric, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Dani Ceballos; Brahim Díaz, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr.
