Davide Ancelotti reveals who's the better coach: Xabi Alonso or his father
Brazil's assistant coach clarifies a much-discussed debate during the past soccer season
Real Madrid changed its coach at the end of the last soccer season. The departure of Carlo Ancelotti, who leaves as the most decorated coach in the club's history, is followed by the arrival of Xabi Alonso. However, the Reggiolo coach hasn't retired yet and keeps himself in the spotlight of global sports notoriety.
He is, in fact, the new coach of Brazil. He has brought to the national team's bench many of the staff members who worked with him during his second stint in Spain's capital. After many doubts and some offers from several prestigious teams, his son Davide has also joined the project.

The opinions of the Canarinha's assistant coach therefore don't go unnoticed. This was the case with his interview on Cadena COPE: Davide Ancelotti answered several questions related to his time at Real Madrid and the new project in Brazil. He also had the opportunity to state his point of view regarding comparisons with his father.
So much so that some already place Xabi Alonso as the best coach at the moment, ahead of many other competitors both in clubs and national teams. Davide Ancelotti, however, makes his point of view clear regarding that striking debate: "For me, my father is the best coach" in the world right now, without any doubt.
Very clear differences
Xabi Alonso would lose that unofficial competition, having just arrived at the home bench of Santiago Bernabéu, even though Davide Ancelotti himself has a lot to say about the Basque coach. "For me, Xabi is very good. He's the best of the young ones out there", which is reason enough to place him as the second-best coach in the world at this moment.
That distinction is very important according to Davide Ancelotti: "In history, you can't forget about the heavyweights. Pep, Mourinho, Klopp, I don't want to forget anyone". Far from that historical compilation of great coaches, Xabi Alonso is the second-best in the world "right now on the international scene".

The connection between Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid, as well as other virtues he has already shown in his first weeks as the club's coach, make him the right choice. "The ideal replacement for my father was him", Davide Ancelotti points out, "because he's the best young coach, I think, on the market".
Thus, Xabi Alonso has Davide Ancelotti's particular "blessing" for his time at Real Madrid. The Basque strategist has started this journey with good results, although the Club World Cup round of 16 match will be the real trial by fire for his approaches.
