Decision made: Galatasaray makes a move and seals Lunin's signing
Andriy Lunin could sign his departure from Real Madrid next summer transfer window
Andriy Lunin wants to have more playing time and is aware that at Real Madrid it will be very difficult for him next season. The owner of the white goal is Thibaut Courtois, who has played at a very high level for seven seasons, except in 2023/24, when he was injured for most of the season. That situation opened the door for the Ukrainian, who replied with good performances, but who returned to the bench as soon as the Belgian came back.
The goalkeeper wants to leave the club. He has recently been linked with Galatasaray, who are saying goodbye to Fernando Muslera after 14 seasons. The Turkish club is now looking for a young goalkeeper with potential to fill the position in the long term.

According to the newspaper AS, Galatasaray have confirmed that Andriy Lunin was offered by Jorge Mendes for the goalkeeper position. However, they currently have other priorities on their list of candidates, such as Alisson Becker or Emiliano Martínez. Therefore, the option of the Ottoman team doesn't seem to be the most likely for the Ukrainian's future.
Heading to the Premier League?
In sporting terms, Andriy Lunin has much more attractive offers than Galatasaray's. In recent weeks, the Ukrainian goalkeeper has been linked with Aston Villa under Unai Emery. The English team, facing the departure of Emiliano Martínez, would be looking for a reliable goalkeeper.
Andriy Lunin has a contract with Real Madrid until 2030, so to leave Valdebebas he will need an offer that convinces Florentino Pérez. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is quite different from the €8.5 million that the white club paid Zorya in 2018.

In the recently concluded season, Lunin played only 14 matches, half the number he played the previous season, when he took advantage of Courtois's injury. At 26 years old, he doesn't want to remain in this situation and is looking for a team where he can be the undisputed starter, without living in the shadow of a goalkeeper of the Belgian's stature.
That's why next summer could be the decisive moment for Andriy Lunin to decide to leave his position and look for another club where he can be the undisputed starter.
