The double win doesn't calm Freixa, historic tantrum against Mbappé: 'His numbers…'
The former FC Barcelona executive complains about the French striker's numbers with Real Madrid
Despite the irregular competitive records left by the first team during the current soccer season under the tactical leadership of Carlo Ancelotti, not all the news is bad. Especially now that Xabi Alonso has already effectively succeeded the Reggiolo coach and has begun preparing for the next campaign, as well as the Club World Cup in the summer.
The player who stands out above the rest is Kylian Mbappé. It's no wonder Madridists would have chosen the Bondy forward as the best player on the first team during the 24/25 season, among other things because of his Golden Boot. The white "9" has been this season's top scorer in European and Spanish soccer, defeating demanding competition that hasn't made things easy for him at all.

Given all these records, there's no doubt that Kylian Mbappé has slightly improved the collective feeling about the 24/25 season. Toni Freixa sees it this way on "El Chiringuito de Jugones": "Mbappé's season is better than Madrid's, because Madrid's has been very bad. But Mbappé's hasn't been as good as was desired" in the days following his signing, almost a year ago.
The former FC Barcelona executive points out: "If a team that won everything adds the one who's supposed to be the best player in the world", the results would be exceptional. "In the end, something has failed here: Mbappé's fit in the team, the way of working... In the end, he has put up numbers that I want to say are inflated, and I know now everyone will come after me" for this serious accusation.
it's a major "threat"
It's not surprising, since Toni Freixa doubts the honesty and truthfulness of Mbappé's individual records in his first season with Real Madrid. As expected, the former FC Barcelona executive resorts to refereeing controversy to protest and defend his opinion, a rhetoric repeated many times during the current season.
"Madrid have been awarded a spectacular number of penalties and Mbappé has scored many penalty goals", with seven goals in that league record. Toni Freixa also doesn't forget "that Mbappé tackle against Getafe that should've been a four-match suspension, but was only one".

Toni Freixa believes thatrefereeing decisions would have played a significant role in Kylian Mbappé's goal-scoring records this season. Not even having dominated Spanish soccer with hardly any competition in the 24/25 campaign, defeating Real Madrid in all four Clásicos, completely satisfies the former FC Barcelona executive. Protests about Kylian Mbappé's numbers could be repeated in the coming seasons.
Especially now that Xabi Alonso is present on the home bench at Santiago Bernabéu. The Tolosa coach would boost the collective and individual records of the Bondy forward with the goal of challenging that blaugrana dominance in LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España.
