Fabrizio Romano confirms it, end of the Rodrygo case: 'If a top team arrives...'
The Italian journalist reveals the latest update on the saga surrounding the Carioca striker
One of Real Madrid's major concerns during the 2025 summer transfer window is Rodrygo Goes. The "11" verdeamarelo, given his loss of prominence, has decided to explore the possibility of leaving the first team. Most of the approaches from other top-level European soccer clubs haven't worked.
In addition, Rodrygo himself has stated that he wants to keep wearing the white jersey. As we have been able to confirm at Defensa Central, the Osasco striker doesn't look favorably on leaving Santiago Bernabéu locker room now. His goal is to stay in the Spanish capital and show Xabi Alonso that he can count on him as a regular starter.

While the first results of that statement of intent arrive, transfer market rumors keep moving forward. Especially because of the interest that the Premier League has shown in recent days. None of those attempts to sign him, Fabrizio Romano notes, have affected his future.
The Italian journalist even points out that, "for now," Rodrygo Goes will be at Xabi Alonso's disposal for the 25/26 season. The Italian reporter notes that "there are no negotiations with any team. The situation remains calm" regarding his short-term future.
Nothing at all
While it is true that "there has been a lot of talk about Rodrygo Goes after the World Cup", Fabrizio Romano insists that "for now, not a single official offer has arrived" at the club. Likewise, "the player isn't pushing to leave" Santiago Bernabéu locker room, confirming that initial satisfaction with the role Xabi Alonso has reserved for him now.
"I can tell you one thing, there's a lot of talk about Rodrygo. But from what I'm told, it would be very hard for Rodrygo to leave Real Madrid", warns Fabrizio Romano. "It's also hard for him to even think about leaving Real Madrid, he's in love with the club, with the opportunity to be a Real Madrid player", the journalist notes.

That's why Rodrygo Goes doesn't believe that "the time has come to leave Real Madrid. If a top-level team comes in the last few weeks, with a very important offer" both financially and in sporting terms, "well, let's see what happens". Only in that case would Rodrygo Goes, according to Fabrizio Romano, consider leaving Santiago Bernabéu locker room.
Meanwhile, the Italian reporter recalls, the Brazilian "11"'s future will remain linked to the entity presided over by Florentino Pérez. "I can guarantee you that Rodrygo isn't desperate to leave Real Madrid, he'd love to stay and compete to be an important player for Xabi Alonso", Fabrizio Romano finally reveals.
