Fabrizio Romano denies Rüdiger's departure, he could be renewed
Real Madrid hasn't made a decision yet regarding the German's future
The continuity of Antonio Rüdiger is hanging in the air. In recent days, several media outlets have stated that the Real Madrid footballer could leave once the current season ends. However, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that no decision has been made.
According to the Italian journalist, Real Madrid still hasn't thoroughly studied this situation. For now, Antonio Rüdiger will remain a Madridist and, once the end of the season approaches, Florentino Pérez and company will decide.

Real Madrid has replacements ready
Nevertheless, that doesn't mean Real Madrid doesn't have several defenders on its list to renew the center-back position.
The first is Ibrahima Konaté, who could arrive as a free agent from Liverpool if he doesn't agree to renew with the "reds." His contract ends in 2026 (2026), and Real Madrid could set his signing in motion starting next January.
Moreover, at Real Madrid they're also closely following the future of Joan Martínez, who keeps adding minutes with Castilla. Álvaro Arbeloa started him in the first match against CD Lugo. Nevertheless, the club wants to see if he's able to keep up the pace for most of the season without physical problems.
Antonio Rüdiger, heavily criticized in Germany
It hasn't been a calm international break for Antonio Rüdiger.Germany beat Northern Ireland (3-1) in the second match, but lost unexpectedly to Slovakia (2-0).
The Real Madrid center-back was in the spotlight after the match for his reproaches to his teammates about the game. However, in Germany they also highlighted his weak defensive performance.
"He's a Real Madrid defender. You have to push this player to his right foot, which is the weaker one, and not let him cut inside. I don't think his behavior is good," commented Bastian Schweinsteiger on German television.

"Of course, it'd be good if there were another German player nearby to help in situations like this, but it's too easy," added the German legend.
Antonio Rüdiger started both matches, something that's not happening at Real Madrid. The German footballer played one of the three league matches with Xabi Alonso. For now, the Basque coach has decided to go with the Huijsen/Militao duo, which is giving him such good results.
