Florentino Has Biggest Jewel from La Masia in Years within Reach, Transfer for 2027

Real Madrid is still focused on expanding its team for the upcoming summer transfer markets

Besides the management of the soccer assets already in Bernabéu changing room, Real Madrid's sports management wants to continue the generational change initiated in 2018. This process aims to replace all the older players with others who can extend the great winning pace shown by the Whites in recent times.

The areas that would need the most transfers, in that sense, are the midfield and the defense. Acquiring transfers for all positions in the white defense is anticipated to be a long and complex process. So the most immediate transfer is in the engine room.

Toni Kroos' retirement, as well as Luka Modric's possible exit  at the end of this season, leaves two important spaces in the roster of midfielders. The executives led by Florentino Pérez want to fill them as soon as possible with players of great associative capabilities to improve the team's play, something that has suffered this season.

One of the players chosen to perform such functions is Xavi Simons. The attacking midfielder trained in La Masia left the Ciudad Condal early to continue his journey through the PSG academy. When that stint ended, he couldn't find a place in the rouge et bleu team. And has since played for Ajax of Amsterdam and RB Leipzig.

In those teams, he has earned a return to the locker room of the Parc des Princes, but Luis Enrique still doesn't make him a regular in his best starting eleven. That disposition has caused the German team to mobilize everything necessary to secure his signing during the current winter market until summer 2027.

That transfer has set off alarms in the Valdebebas offices. Because Xavi Simons is one of the players who is on the list of potential future signings for the midfield. Now there are real possibilities to attempt his incorporation, because it wasn't so while he was part of the Parisian sports discipline.

Any transfer attempt from or to PSG is blocked by the icy institutional relationship between both clubs. Having overcome that very important hurdle in the possible signing of the Dutch attacking midfielder, Madrid bosses now must be patient and wait until 2027. By then, Simons would be 24 years old and could arrive as a free agent to Santiago Bernabéu locker room.

This way, they would avoid paying a transfer fee exceeding 80 million euros, same amount that RB Leipzig would've invested in the current winter market. Taking advantage of the passage of time, Juni Calafat's scouts will keep an eye on this great talent that other elite clubs will try to sign in the upcoming markets.
