Florentino and Rodrygo reach an agreement, his future at Real Madrid is settled

The white leadership issues a clear warning to the Brazilian forward

Real Madrid are moving forward with preparations for this summer's Club World Cup. In addition to the changes and additions in Santiago Bernabéu locker room, the executives led by Florentino Pérez must also solve other ongoing issues. One of the most notable is the potential departure of a key starter in the Merengue attack: Rodrygo Goes.

The performance of the "11" verdeamarelo this season has been certainly disappointing, generating many rumors about a departure during the 2025 summer transfer window. Real Madrid haven't made any official statements regarding these speculations yet, but Xabi Alonso's message is very clear: "We have to talk" about the player's future.

In addition to the conversations between the South American footballer and the new Blancos coach, the Valdebebas offices are setting a deadline for Rodrygo Goes's continuity. The information published by José Félix Díaz indicates that the Merengue leaders "want a reaction on the field" from the Osasco striker.

This reaction demanded by the Madridist leadership would have a scheduled date: "They want him to show it at the Club World Cup," states the MARCA journalist. Thus, the tournament to be held in the United States starting June 18 appears to be a key moment for Rodrygo's continuity in the first team.

Time is running out

Everything suggests that the Club World Cup could be the competition that defines the future of the Carioca striker. If he manages to deliver good numbers under Xabi Alonso's tactical orders, especially if they directly impact the group's competitive prospects, his stay with the team would be confirmed.

Otherwise, many believe Real Madrid could discreetly put him on the transfer market. This is especially true given the interest Rodrygo Goes generates at multiple elite European clubs such as Arsenal or Chelsea. The Premier League seems like the ideal destination for the "11" verdeamarelo, in addition to his current team: Real Madrid.

This decision by Real Madrid, making the Club World Cup an important date to define Rodrygo's future, is the club's response to conversations with the footballer himself. The Brazilian forward has made it clear that he wants to stay in Santiago Bernabéu locker room and be part of the new Blancos sports project, under Xabi Alonso's tactical leadership.

But it won't be as easy as in previous occasions, when expressing that desire was more than enough to keep Rodrygo. Now the Osasco striker will have to earn his place, as well as the trust of the board, at the Club World Cup. If he fails in the attempt, his career as a Real Madrid footballer would be severely reduced, perhaps to the point of ending definitively this summer.
