Florentino announces the return date of Nico Paz for €9M
The Merengue bosses are beginning to outline their roadmap for the upcoming summer period
One of the names that has appeared on Real Madrid's radar during the current transfer window is Nico Paz. The departure of Luka Modric as a free agent heading to AC Milan, in addition to Toni Kroos's retirement in 2024, has left a notable gap in Madrid's midfield. Xabi Alonso insists: he needs at least one player with great creative abilities.
The hypothetical departure of Dani Ceballos to Olympique de Marseille, in the form of a loan with an obligation to buy, would worsen that problem identified during the past soccer season by Carlo Ancelotti. With the aim of remedying a situation that could become a source of problems on the competitive field, the club's top executives have made two decisions.

The mostimmediate is to replace the imminent departure of Dani Ceballos with one of the academy players who has most surprised Xabi Alonso. The inclusion of Thiago Pitarch in the first team's dynamics seems like a last-minute decision, given Arbeloa's tactical needs in Real Madrid Castilla.
To address that lack of creative midfielders, Real Madrid has decided to include Nico Paz in its plans. The Argentine footballer is currently at Como 1907, a team where he has fit in perfectly: Cesc Fàbregas has made him a key piece in its schemes. That's why there are very few offers that could take the South American "10" out of Serie A.
He already has a return date
Approaches from several Premier League teams, including Tottenham, haven't offered enough arguments to convince the footballer or the Lombard club. Nico Paz will remain at Como 1907 during the 25/26 campaign, his second and perhaps last as a footballer in Italy. The newspaper As reveals Real Madrid's plans for the player.
The information from this Spanish sports newspaper warns that Real Madrid will count on Nico Paz for the 26/27 season, perhaps with Xabi Alonso still in charge of Madrid's locker room. The need to add a creative midfielder would not have dissipated by then and the Argentine player is the chosen one in the Valdebebas offices.

After making this decision, all that remains is to know how to bring Nico Paz back to Real Madrid. The executives led by Florentino Pérez, unlike other clubs, will have a much easier time executing this signing due to the prerogatives of the attacking midfielder's contract with Como 1907. In addition to holding 50% of his transfer rights, the club secured a buy-back clause.
This recovery option was set at eight million euros (€8 million) this summer, but increases by one million each campaign it is not exercised. Therefore, Real Madrid will only have to pay nine million euros (€9 million) to have Nico Paz in its squad starting from the 26/27 season.
