Didac Aguirre Florentino Considers Signing a 'Bargain' in France to Fill Modric's Position

Over the years, one of the best players Real Madrid has had is Luka Modric. The Croatian, who has been with Real Madrid for more than a decade, has been key to achieving several successes. However, despite his level, Modric's age is a factor that Madrid has taken into account for the next season.
Looking for a replacement for the Croatian, Florentino Pérez has set his sights on Rayan Cherki. The Olympique Lyon player has been standing out in Ligue 1, being one of the great French talents. Developing as a solid midfielder, Florentino has seen Cherki as the perfect replacement for Luka Modric.

With his contract expiring in 2026, Cherki's value is 30 million euros, a quite affordable amount for Real Madrid. Although it is not the only club interested in Cherki, Florentino Pérez is confident in securing his transfer during the summer.

Cherki's arrival at Real Madrid would mean the end of Luka Modric's successful and legendary cycle with the team. Although nothing is confirmed yet regarding this operation, Madrid fans might be witnessing Modric's last matches with Real Madrid.
