Florentino gives the OK to Al-Khelaïfi, PSG about to finalize the signing: it's imminent
The white sports management would not be interested in making that signing a reality
Real Madrid is getting closer to giving up on one of the signings that has been circulating in their orbit for several weeks: Franco Mastantuono. Despite the renewed proximity regarding the River Plate footballer, those in the Valdebebas offices see his arrival in the white locker room this summer as increasingly complicated.
It's not just because of the hiring conditions set by the entity presided over by Jorge Brito. River Plate has made it clear, on more than one occasion, that the club interested in signing Franco Mastantuono would have to pay his release clause effectively and immediately. The payment of those €45 million ($45 million) seems like too high an investment for the Merengue treasury.

The other reason that would lead Real Madrid to rule out the signing of Franco Mastantuono is two players: Arda Güler and Nico Paz. While it's true that the current '79' of Como 1907 hasn't returned to the Merengue sports discipline, many already count on him. Among them are a large part of those responsible for planning for the coming seasons.
The position that the '30' from Azul occupies on the field would put at risk the projection and growth parameters that both Güler and Nico Paz could offer. Santiago Solari, first team football director, is trying to change that perception... but he hasn't achieved considerable success so far.
Time is running out
The apparent apathy of Real Madrid regarding the signing of Franco Mastantuono is surpassed by the fervent and growing interest of PSG in the footballer. The entity presided over by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi seems determined to make the millionaire attacking midfielder their first signing after winning the Champions League, against Inter Milan, in Munich.
In that sense, the plans of the rouge-et-bleu bosses would be going as planned. With hardly any competition from other elite European clubs, including a Real Madrid that's once again stepping back, PSG is getting closer to signing him. That's what the newspaper As has indicated in recent hours, practically declaring this transfer saga of the market as settled.

Although PSG is very close to completing the signing of Franco Mastantuono, this sports newspaper leaves a window of intervention for the bosses led by Florentino Pérez. "Only a quick intervention by Real Madrid would change the situation" because the '30' from River Plate has always preferred to wear the Merengue jersey in his future in the European elite.
It doesn't seem that this "quick intervention" presented by the newspaper As as a last resort is close to becoming a reality. While Real Madrid deliberates about the 'Mastantuono case' and several other signings on their agenda for the 2025 summer market, PSG is about to sign the Australian talent.
