While Real Madrid's squad is focused on the Club World Cup, Florentino Pérez is still working on several signings. Álvaro Carreras, Benfica's left-back, is Real Madrid's main target for the market. Working to finalize his arrival before the World Cup, Benfica prevented this from being possible.
Even so, this hasn't made Real Madrid lose interest in a player it considers essential. Although the deal has become more complicated than expected, Real Madrid is clear that it will only sign Carreras. This decision by Florentino Pérez has automatically and clearly ruled out the return of Miguel Gutiérrez.
Real Madrid hasn't considered bringing back the star player currently at Girona. Even with 50% of his rights, making it a deal that would be inexpensive, Real Madrid is only looking for Álvaro Carreras.
Florentino Pérez's rejection
Having been part of Real Madrid's youth academy from 2011 to 2022, Miguel Gutiérrez ended up signing for Girona. Although his first season wasn't so solid, his second campaign established him as a great full-back. Helping Girona qualify for the Champions League for the first time in its history, Miguel showed all his talent.
At 23 years old (23 years old), rumors about a possible return of Miguel to Real Madrid have resurfaced. Given the complications with Carreras's signing, Miguel has become a more than solid option for Real Madrid.
However, Florentino Pérez made it quite clear that he doesn't want to have Miguel back in the team. Considering Carreras as the only real option for the left-back position, Miguel will have to look for another team for next season.
Álvaro Carreras or nothing
Florentino Pérez's decision has shown how important Álvaro Carreras's signing is for him. While Miguel has proved his worth at Girona, his departure is much more beneficial for Real Madrid because of the income it will receive. With 50% of his rights and considering his popularity, a departure is the best option for Miguel.
