Florentino Sets an Essential Condition for Transfer Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold's future at Real Madrid could be affected by Florentino Pérez's stance

Real Madrid are still working hard on the transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool player is the chosen one to reinforce a right-back that was left without the presence of Dani Carvajal.

The Spaniard's injury showed the team's need for another player in this position. But Florentino's stance could affect this transfer.

The Real Madrid president has made it clear that he only wants to sign Arnold on a free transfer . This has shown that the club will not seek to finalise the arrival of the Englishman for the next winter. A very risky situation because, in the event of a contract renewal, the club would've to look for another full-back to reinforce the right flank.

Florentino Pérez's Decision

Having signed several star players in the past after their contracts expired, the situation with Arnold was not going to be the exception. The 26-year-old full-back's contract expires next summer, making it a perfect opportunity for Real Madrid.

The 1,264 minutes he has played this season are a sign of his level and relevance in the English squad . Because of this, Liverpool are still confident of convincing the Englishman to renew his contract. The decision taken by Florentino Pérez has given the team more time to try to achieve its goal.

Despite the danger that this decision poses, Real Madrid remains confident of securing the transfer of Arnold. Although the Englishman will not be signed in the winter market, this doesn't mean that the club will not try to close this operation as soon as possible.

The fight for Arnold

Being one of the best right-backs in the world, Liverpool and Real Madrid are ready to fight for the player. Arnold, for his part, has remained focused on his duties this season.

With a wealth of experience from their past transfers, Real Madrid's confidence in Arnold is understandable. Alaba, Rüdiger and Mbappé are just some of the stars that the team has managed to sign completely for free, largely justifying their trust.
