Florentino's journalist friend delivers the rant of the century: 'Mastantuono is...'
Tomás González-Martín spoke about the absurd law that prevents the Argentine footballer from playing
Almost all Real Madrid players trained in the last session led by Xabi Alonso. Endrick and Ferland Mendy were absent, as they did individual exercises. Jude Bellingham, who is still recovering from his injury, was also missing. Franco Mastantuono was not present either, as he won't be able to join the group until August 14, when he turns 18 years old.
The Argentine player will be absent from the first joint training sessions of the new season with Real Madrid because he still can't wear white. In fact, he isn't a Real Madrid player one hundred percent yet, since he isn't of legal age.

Franco Mastantuono eagerly awaits August 14
The reason is directly related to the player's age. Franco Mastantuono will have to wait until next August 14, the day he comes of age. From that date on, the footballer will be able to train without any issues.
This reason is due to the rule regarding non-EU players, those from outside the European Union. All footballers who want to sign for a European club must have turned 18 years old in order to play and/or train.
A similar situation was experienced in the past by Endrick, Vinícius, or Rodrygo Goes before joining Real Madrid. All of them had to wait until they were 18 years old to play for the club of their dreams.
Tomás González-Martín's forceful message
In recent hours, Tomás González-Martín, a journalist quite close to Florentino Pérez, spoke about this topic on his social media.
"Mastantuono is the surreal example for changing an outdated law. South American footballers are elite and they're not exploited because they play in Europe at 17 years old. Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Endrick also had to wait a year because of this ridiculous and absurd legal nonsense," he explained.

In Franco Mastantuono's case, he is expected to be presented as a new Real Madrid player as soon as he turns 18 years old. The goal is for him to make his debut in the match against CA Osasuna on August 19, although Xabi Alonso will have to evaluate him in the training sessions prior to the first match.
