The former architect of El Chiringuito accuses VAR over Mbappé's offside
The statements criticizing Kylian Mbappé's offside, called by VAR
Despite securing the victory against Mallorca, Real Madrid ended up upset with the refereeing. The 3 goals disallowed by VAR are still being criticized by several fans. Nacho Tellado, former architect of El Chiringuito, wrote on his X account: "You can see how he looks up and glances back...in the 'recreation' he's looking down and forward."
With these words, Nacho has criticized the images that VAR showed to justify the disallowed goal for Kylian Mbappé. "Incompetence is an understatement," he added to his forceful words to show his annoyance. According to what we know at Defensa Central, VAR has several angles available to analyze a play and make the best decision.
However, the images it showed during the match, instead of clearing up doubts, caused many more. "It's normal for Mbappé to find this play strange," Nacho Tellado concluded to explain the French forward's feelings. Although the result was favorable for Real Madrid, it could've been much better.
Criticism against VAR
After an excellent debut season, Kylian Mbappé has started even better this campaign. Having played 4 hr. 27 min. (267 min.) so far, the Frenchman has already scored 3 goals. However, his numbers could've been much higher if VAR hadn't disallowed his goals against Mallorca.

Although the Frenchman didn't protest after the end of the match, Nacho Tellado's words express the discontent of Madridists. VAR, a tool introduced to improve refereeing, continues to harm with questionable decisions. Nacho, above all, placed special emphasis on the 3D models used to analyze these plays.
Pointing out that Mbappé was looking back at the moment of the play, VAR showed the Frenchman looking forward. A very noticeable change where, clearly, the offside can be perceived. Without pointing to possible image manipulation, Nacho's words show how much VAR needs to make changes.
The situation remains the same
Even with all the changes CTA made before the start of the season, refereeing remains the same. These controversies not only affect Real Madrid but also the vast majority of LaLiga clubs. A situation that, clearly, needs to change to prevent situations like the one that occurred at Santiago Bernabéu from happening again.
