Cuatro crosses the line, very unfortunate comment about Bellingham: 'It's genetic'
The appreciation of the English midfielder's playing style has sparked multiple reactions
The Club World Cup is offering multiple displays of talent that aren't going unnoticed. Executives led by Florentino Pérez are closely following, thanks to Real Madrid's extensive scouting team, some talents in various positions who could have a future in the first team.
One of the most notable in this regard has just arrived at a club participating in the competition organized by FIFA: Borussia Dortmund. The black and yellow squad made official, shortly before the start of its journey in this tournament held in the United States, the signing of a highly regarded midfielder in England: Jobe Bellingham.

The younger brother of Jude Bellingham seems to be following the path left by Real Madrid's "5". In fact, Jude himself made the leap from the Premier League precisely to Borussia Dortmund, thus establishing himself in the European football elite and caught the attention of Real Madrid. Many believe that his brother Jobe could be following the same path with the hope of reuniting with Jude, in a few years, in Santiago Bernabéu locker room.
Real Madrid's sporting management considered signing Jobe Bellingham some time ago. While it's true that the younger brother of the Madrid midfielder shows great potential, it's still too soon to subject him to the level of demand imposed at the Spanish capital squad.
Unexpected assessment
That's why they'll let Jobe Bellingham, as happened with Real Madrid's current "5", gain experience at other top-level teams. His participation in the Club World Cup with Borussia Dortmund is a fantastic opportunity to show his talent, a window he's taking advantage of. However, he's a protagonist in our country because of an unexpected comment.
The television network Cuatro broadcast live the match between Borussia Dortmund and Ulsan Hyundai. In one play of that match, Jobe Bellingham made a sliding tackle in which he touched the ball, then ran over an opponent without much force. Nevertheless, the referee of the match called that play a foul, punishing it with a yellow card.

"It's in this family's genetic code to go hard for every ball", said the match commentator. The person leading that broadcast was journalist Raúl Jimeno, nicknamed in the press as "Menottinto", whose passion for Atlético de Madrid is well known. "It's extremely dangerous, isn't it?", Jimeno insisted to describe Jobe Bellingham's tackle.
The English player's action runs over his opponent, but it's not an especially dangerous tackle: Jobe Bellingham was shown the yellow because the rival was almost with his back to the English midfielder. In any case, that comment about the Bellingham family's "genetics" wasn't well received and went viral on social media in just a few minutes.
