From Arsenal to Real Madrid, Operation Confirmed Overnight in England

Real Madrid, after what happened during the 24/25 season, seems to be in need of several additions. One of the most striking is directly related to the midfield, as they have lost one of their most important players: the organizing pivot Toni Kroos. With the former German '8' retired, there is hardly anyone to perform those functions.

While it is true that Dani Ceballos was in charge of taking on those tasks for a short period of the current season, the '19' is currently recovering from an injury. That's why Carlo Ancelotti continues to think of new solutions for a problem that has persisted since last August 2024. The solution, however, seems to be in the transfer market.

The interest of the white sports management in acquiring the services of Martín Zubimendi is not a surprise to many at this point. Juni Calafat's scouts have marked him as a priority target to regain similar performances to those offered by Toni Kroos during his last stage as a white player. 

But Real Madrid is not the only one interested in acquiring the services of this Real Sociedad midfielder: Arsenal and Liverpool remain as his offers... while it is true that the squad coached by Mikel Arteta has shown to be a step ahead of the red operations to incorporate the '4' txuri-urdin immediately.

The information published by The Sunday Mirror reveals that the gunner sports management has made the signing of the Basque midfielder an absolute priority, given the strong and intense Madrid interest.

The dynamics of a transfer that seemed practically closed with Arsenal have changed significantly. The executives led by Florentino Pérez, spurred by Zubimendi's fantastic profile, have regained some of the lost ground in this transfer... and would be in a position to challenge Arsenal's candidacy to acquire the services of Real Sociedad's '4' this summer.

Andrea Berta, the new sporting director of Arsenal, already has a very clear objective: to sign Martín Zubimendi at all costs. This incoming executive at the Emirates Stadium, according to various reports handled in the British Isles, would not have it as easy as it seemed until now. The emergence of Real Madrid has disrupted that 'balance' that favored the gunner candidacy.
