From Real Madrid to Arsenal, Florentino Gives the OK to His Departure for €60 Million

This player is off Real Madrid's radar and will go to the Premier League for 60 million euros from Arsenal

Signings in Real Madrid's environment continue to be a real mystery for the next season. However, it seems there is one specific player who was on Real Madrid's radar but will now end up in the Premier League. He is with Arsenal, who seem to have the lead in securing this player's services.

For 60 million euros, it seems that Martín Zubimendi's departure from Real Sociedad is a reality. The merengue team would have given up the possibility of signing this player and sees other positions as necessary. Therefore, they let this opportunity pass for him to head to English soccer.

For many Madridist fans, this signing could have been strategic and, above all, complementary to what is needed. However, with the emergence of a footballer like Arda Güler, who could act as an organizer, the outlook changes radically.

He Will Go to the Premier League

This player has shown great things with Real Sociedad, which is a quite consolidated team. With a release clause of 60 million euros, he could have joined Real Madrid directly.  However, the reality is that right now Arsenal would have the lead as he is a player they are looking for.

Florentino has no intention of entering a battle for this player, so his move to English soccer is practically a reality. This has absolutely nothing to do with the records he has with the Basque team. In this, only during the current season, he has reached a good amount of minutes, surpassing 3,600 in 44 matches.

Clearly, this decision has been made directly by a merengue board that considers better options in other areas of the squad.

A Great Decision

Entering a bid for a footballer who, while he would have been very useful, the reality is that he won't be entirely decisive. Much more so when there is already a profile that could perform the same function for which they were going to sign him. This, with a player with much more projection and future ahead.
