From Real Madrid to Feyenoord, from great defensive prospect to unexpected departure
The unexpected situation of a star who, after being close to signing for Real Madrid, now looks set to join Feyenoord
For several years, Real Madrid has been signing multiple young talents. Having succeeded in most of its transfers, one of its most eye-catching targets was Yarek Gasiorowski. The young Valencia center-back was close to joining Real Madrid, being considered by the club as a necessary signing for the defense.
However, now Yarek's future points to an upcoming transfer to Feyenoord. After being surpassed by César Tarraga in Valencia's defense, Real Madrid set its sights on other center-backs. Although Yarek is still quite young, Real Madrid no longer considers signing him in future transfer windows, having other targets in mind.

Although his transfer to Feyenoord hasn't been finalized, it's only a matter of time before it happens. For a fee close to €10 million, Yarek has gone from being a great prospect to being close to leaving Spanish soccer.
The star who never joined Real Madrid
Having developed in Valencia's youth academy since 2021, Yarek made the jump to the first team in 2023. This was a wise decision by a club that, thanks to Yarek's interventions, came close to qualifying for Europe. With great height (6 ft. 1 in.[1.86 m]), outstanding defensive solidity, and confidence in his decisions, Yarek was one of the revelations of LaLiga.
Real Madrid, needing to renew its defense, saw Yarek as the perfect center-back to start this process. However, given the 1,240 minutes Yarek managed to play throughout the season, Real Madrid stopped considering Yarek's transfer.

His imminent transfer to Feyenoord shows the decline Yarek has experienced in his still young career. Had he not lost his starting spot to César Tarraga, his situation could have been different. However, now Yarek must accept that he won't be able to join Real Madrid.
Feyenoord's opportunity
Despite this situation, Yarek's signing for Feyenoord could be a great opportunity for the center-back. Being only 20 years old, Yarek can make the most of his minutes at Feyenoord to, in the future, become the center-back he was expected to be.
