Jacobo Ramón stated that "I was at the Club World Cup with Real Madrid, the clubs talked. Cesc called me and told me he thought I was perfect for them," and he was very happy to join him. Talking to the Catalan coach seems to have finally convinced him to sign.

The Madrid youth center-back also had another reason to accept the offer he was presented with. He admitted that "it's a super ambitious project, and I already had several friends there".
