From the Jacobazo and the World Cup to Como: this is how Jacobo Ramón's departure was orchestrated

Jacobo Ramón reveals how his signing for Como was arranged this summer

Jacobo Ramón has been one of the youth players who left Real Madrid this summer to make his own way. With no place in the first team with Asensio and the signing of Huijsen, he saw Como as a good option. He ended up signing for the Italian side while he was at the Club World Cup.

At the start of the season, he is attracting a lot of attention for his performance at Como. That's why he gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport to analyze these first few months. He also shared how his move to the Italian side came about.

Jacobo Ramón stated that "I was at the Club World Cup with Real Madrid, the clubs talked. Cesc called me and told me he thought I was perfect for them," and he was very happy to join him. Talking to the Catalan coach seems to have finally convinced him to sign.

The Madrid youth center-back also had another reason to accept the offer he was presented with. He admitted that "it's a super ambitious project, and I already had several friends there". He is referring to "Nico Paz, Assane Diao, Jesús Rodríguez," so he considers it "the perfect place to continue my career."

Praises Madrid but closes the door to returning for now

Just as it has done with other players, like Nico Paz, Real Madrid wants to keep a close eye on Jacobo. That's why they keep 50 percent of the rights in a future sale. They also have a buy-back clause that they can activate over the next 3 years.

Jacobo Ramón referred to this and doesn't seem to be thinking about returning, at least for now. "I really like Calcio," and last year he watched several Serie A matches and appreciated the competitive spirit of the tournament. He pointed out that in Italy, the fight for the Scudetto is getting more and more intense.

He wants to stay at Como "for many years," but he also speaks very highly of Real Madrid. "They do an exceptional job, they shape both people and footballers. I am who I am thanks to Madrid," when you are there, you know you are in the best place to forge yourself, he pointed out.
