Gareth Bale, about to return: $48M to make him put the golf clubs aside
The surprising return to soccer that Gareth Bale could make through a multimillion-euro payment
As one of the best players in the world at his peak, Gareth Bale is still remembered. Achieving his greatest successes with Real Madrid, Bale retired in 2023 after his time in MLS. Enjoying golf more than soccer, this could change after Bale's €48 million ($48 million) offer to buy Cardiff City.
Although Cardiff City hasn't commented on this, Bale has already made his intentions clear. Even though this doesn't mean Bale will return to the field, it's the closest the Welshman will get to doing so. Born in Cardiff, the purchase of his hometown club would also be for sentimental reasons.
The former right winger has taken the first step toward becoming a soccer club executive. A position that will bring a lot of pressure, which Bale, because of his past as a player, knows how to handle perfectly. All that's left is to wait for Cardiff City's response.
An unexpected return
At 35 years old, Gareth Bale has spent a few years enjoying his retirement from soccer. Known as the "Cardiff Express," he has never intended to come out of retirement. It's a real shame given the excellent player he managed to become in the past, especially when he was part of Real Madrid.

Playing 258 matches with the club, Bale scored 106 goals and provided 67 assists over his 8 seasons. His performance in the Champions League final against Liverpool is still remembered to this day for being the hero of the match.
In addition to his quality as a player, Bale also learned many things during his time at Real Madrid. One of them is Florentino Pérez's excellent management, which he now seeks to put into practice with Cardiff City, if his offer is accepted.
Bale's new interest
With no further information available, all that's left is to wait for Cardiff City's response to Gareth Bale's multi-million euro offer. Even though he has had several opportunities to come out of retirement, Bale is only interested in returning to soccer as the owner of a team.
