Gonzalo García, From Butarque's Goal to Castilla's History, Has Achieved What No One Else Has

The Castilla forward breaks a historic record and aims for higher goals

Real Madrid Castilla has managed to turn their situation around in 2025 in an impressive way. They went into the Christmas break fighting to avoid relegation in a delicate position. Now, after not knowing defeat this year, they are already looking toward the play-offs.

A comeback in the standings has a great protagonist, Gonzalo García, who is at a great level. For many, it was his goal in Butarque that made this youth player known. He scored in the final moments, the goal that gave Real Madrid the pass to the Copa semifinals.

But the truth is that he has been doing very well in the reserve team, finding the net regularly. After his four goals against Algeciras and the Copa one, he scored again against Atlético Sanluqueño. He did it in the second half, with a brace that not only gave his team the victory.

Meanwhile, with those two goals, Gonzalo has made history not only for Real Madrid. He is the first player to surpass 20 goals in the Primera RFEF, setting the mark now at 21. He still has games ahead to increase the figure further.

A Goal Scorer for Whom the Category Is Too Small and Real Madrid Knows It

Gonzalo keeps scoring goals, and in the last 3 matches, he has raised his arms 7 times. Undoubtedly, figures that are within reach of very few and demonstrate his enormous quality. Something that, looking toward the next season, will force a decision to be made.

He is a goal scorer for whom the Primera RFEF is a category that has already become too small. If Castilla manages to ascend to Segunda, they will have an important challenge ahead. But if they don't, Real Madrid will have to make a decision about his future.

If Endrick requests to leave, Gonzalo will take his place in the first team, although it seems unlikely. Therefore, they will look for a move to a Primera team where he can get minutes. The only question is whether it will be through a loan or a transfer retaining part of his rights.
